Butterfly Box

A carved and painted aquamarine butterfly lays within a mixed metal box, contained by an exquisitely beaded 22kt gold frame...she shimmers through the glass, reflecting off of mother of pearl...22kt gold flowers embellish the sides of the box (where she goes, they must follow), topped and tailed with the palpable passion of red rubies enrobed in 22kt gold...the other side of the box hosts a tiny sterling skull with diamond eyes, encircled with sterling silver bead. The box takes flight with its own set of silver wings, golden antennae moored to an Ethiopian opal-studded chain...a tiny carved-bone feather adds loft...turning skyward with artist Melinda Risk.
